Our 100th Day

We celebrated our 100th day of school this week.  All of our centers revolved around the number 100. Our crowns were the favorite activity that day. Here is a picture of the kings and queens.

We have started accessing sight words and subtraction facts. We also continue practicing our handwriting. Any practice at home in any of these areas helps the children very much. I hope you are enjoying your son or daughter reading their books to you.  Thank you for sending them back the next day.

We started a unit on art.  We will have an art museum for families to visit on March 24. More info will follow.  Enjoy the weekend!

Superfish and Our Trip to the Aquarium

Mr. Musselman, from the Science Center, visited us with his Superfish show. He told us all about mollusks (clams), sea stars, lobsters and fish.  He even brought a giant fish model that showed us all the parts.  The kids were most excited about the octopus. They got to see and feel the tentacles and suckers. It was good preparation for our Aquarium trip.

Our trip to the Aquarium did not disappoint.  We saw seals, penguins, seahorses and jellyfish to name a few.  The kids could touch rays, clams, sea stars, horseshoe crabs and hermit crabs.  Unfortunately the octopus was not on exhibit while they redo it's tank. It was nice to see the kids so excited.
