The Nutcracker

It has been quite a week for us!  We reenacted the battle between the mice and the soldiers. We had a wonderful time seeing The Nutcracker on stage. The music and costumes were beautiful.  The kids worked very hard practicing our own dance.  They were so excited and a little nervous to be on stage. Thanks to all of you that came to watch our show, I'm sure you enjoyed it. Margaret and I wish you a very happy holiday!

Happenings

This is Computer Science Education week and we took part in an Hour of Code.  Mr. Shersten, our Ed tech teacher, along with Mrs. Gennaco came to our room on Monday to help us out.  They explained how every computer is programmed by using a code.  We used an app called Lightbot to do some "coding."  The children really caught on to this activity that required critical thinking.  Lightbot, an hour of code, is a free app if you are interested in checking it out with your child.

We are seeing the Nutcracker next Friday. Children are welcome to dress up for the show if they would like.  We are returning close to dismissal so lunch will have to be eaten at home that day. We suggest a healthy breakfast to carry them through. Children that attend an after school program will have to bring a lunch to eat that day.

We have started to practice our dance and the children are very excited!  Just a reminder to have the children wear any white top and black pants for our show on the 22nd. Start time is 8:45, hope to see you!
