5 Green and Speckled Frogs

The class made frog puppets for a reader's theater.  They took turns singing "Five Green and Speckled Frogs" while they jumped into the pool. We had a lot of laughs!

While we are on the subject of frogs, one of our tadpoles grew all four legs!  One of Mrs. Began's actually grew all four legs and lost it's tail, becoming a full frog.  I have added some pictures, I hope you can see our little friends.  Later today I brought the frogs and tadpoles to their new home in the pond across the street from Francis Wyman.

For the last two weeks the class has enjoyed having Turbo the rabbit as our class pet. She is a Lop, named after her long ears. The kids have been able to feed her vegetables and watch it hop around the room. Soon she will return to the Science Center - and she will be missed!

Field Day

It could have been a little bit warmer, but the class had a great time out at field day.  We played with a parachute, stilts, and did all kinds of relays.  I think everyone will realy look forward to having gym class next year.

It's hard to believe but the notice about our last two field trips went home today.  Let me know if you would like to chaperone the nature walk or the Boston trip.

Planting Sunflowers

We planted sunflower seeds this week.  We have been learning all about the life cycle of the plant at the same time. The children will be bringing the plants home for planting. If they survive they can be entered into a contest at the start of school in the fall.

We are making drawings and writing observations of the plants for a writing lesson.
