We had a perfect day at Parlee Farms!  It was a bumper crop for apples and pumpkins. We fed goats, rabbits, and I'm sure you heard all about the hay maze.

In class we are working on writing letters and numbers. Most children need a lot of practice. On Friday I am sending home a practice sheet for the letters.  We have done t, b, f, n, and m so far.  It would be helpful if you could copy the sheet, but I will send more home throughout the year. The numbers do not need to be practiced on lines, but they should be made the same as the math sheets that have been coming home. If any math is done or finished at home, it does not need to be sent back to school.

We have been doing a lot of labeling with our new writing program. Today we did a "cross section diagram" of an apple. The children took turns helping me write the words.

We are also sending home a sheet that is titled All About Me. You will see one each month or so. It's a little activity for your child to do and then they get to share it with the class.  The first one is about hopes and dreams.

I am trying to set up the blog so you would get an email notification when I post something. If you could go to the spot on the blog that says follow by email, you could put your email in.  I hope this works well.

Just a reminder that pictures will be taken on Tuesday, October 1.  The envelopes went home today.

It has been a pleasure getting to know your children!

Math time.

We are counting and making different arrangements for the same number.

We've learned a number game called "Pop."  It's a lot of fun!
